Dear Comrade Image Transformation For Vijay!

Vijay Devarakonda's latest release Dear Comrade released yesterday to mixed response. Those who watched the film felt that despite the riveting performances from the lead pair, the narration fell flat. 

Now, it is coming out that, Dear Comrade story was changed drastically and in the end the film underwent image transformation drastically to assume the current look. In fact Vijay Devarakonda dared to be different and risked a lot while doing Dear Comrade unlike Young Tiger NTR who couldn't do the same after the sensation he created with Aadi.

After NTR's Student No 1, Pavans Sridhar, a new comer planned a film under VMC banner. But when the film was under the shooting, NTR's Aadi released and turned out to be a blockbuster. With NTR getting powerful mass image, the project got shelved as it was a romantic love story and the makers felt that it would not suit NTR's new found mass image after Aadi's sensation. Similarly many films got shelved after Rajamouli created a sensation with NTR with Simhadri. 

Even Vijay Devarakonda's Dear Comrade too would have fallen in the same category. Though Bharat Kamma planned to shelve the project, Vijay Devarakonda insisted on going ahead with Dear Comrade.

Actually Dear Comrade was supposed to start after Vijay Devarakonda's Pelli Choopulu. Bharat Kamma narrated Dear Comrade story to Vijay after he loved his performance in Pelli Choopulu. Vijay too promised to do the film as he loved it.

However the project got sidelined as he got busy with other projects. Bharat Kamma however waited patiently. But Arjun Reddy released and turned out to be a blockbuster and with Vijay getting a completely different image, Bharat had doubts on the story.

Inside talk is Bharat initially made Dear Comrade into a heroine oriented film and planned the title Dear Lilly. Bharat revealed that he felt it may not suit Vijay's image but Vijay loved the story and told that the narration should revolve around the lady character and so he decided to do the film. However he made some changes in the story and came with the film Dear Comrade.
