2020: 1st Quarter Review, Just 4 Hits
The first quarter of 2020 witnessed just four hits while the result of rest of the films was disastrous. Checkout the hits and flops and their statuses at the box office.
INDUSTRY HIT: Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo stood as a surprising industry hit (non BB) of Tollywood. Facing huge competition from another hit Sarileru Neekevvaru, the film managed to score an industry hit which is a rare feat in Tollywood's history. The film collected a share of Rs.162 crores world wide in its full run.
SUPER HITS: Mahesh Babu's Sarileru Neekevvaru, which got released for Sankranthi season scored a resounding hit in Telugu states, mediocre success in other states and turned a flop venture in Overseas with $1M losses. Altogether, the film stood as a super hit at the box office. The film is said to have minted Rs.125 crores world wide collections. Having delivered a series of flops, finally, Nithiin scored a super hit with Bheeshma. The film collected Rs.25+ crores world wide share.
HIT: Produced by Natural Star Nani and featured by Vishwak Sen and Ruhani, Hit (film) turned a hit at the box office.
AVERAGE: Naga Sourya's Aswathama, directed by Ramana Teja, turned an average venture.
DISAPPOINTMENTS: Vijay Deverakonda's most ambitious project World Famous Lover turned a disaster at the box office. Ravi Teja's Disco Raja, Kalyan Ram's Entha Manchivaadavuraa, Sharwanand's Jaanu and rest of the films became disasters at the box office.
