India enters unlock 2 mode
The government of India announced Unlock 2 guidelines that will be in force until the last day of July this year. On Monday the Centre issued guidelines for the second of a three phase plan aimed at lifting restrictions imposed to stop the spread of the coronavirus, announced that educational institutions, cinema halls, Metro rail services and large gatherings will continue to remain banned.
The training institutions of the Central and State governments will be allowed to function from 15th July for which standard Operating Procedure will be issued by the Department of Personnel and Training.
The new guidelines will come into effect from 1st July, are based on feedback received from the states, and consultations with central ministries and departments. The current phase to ease restrictions, called Unlock 1, ends on Tuesday and now India is going to enter Unlock 2.
According to the fresh guidelines, the schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till 31st July. Metro rail, cinema halls, gymnasiums, theatres, bars, hotels, swimming pools, entertainment parks, auditoriums, assembly halls will also remain closed. Social, sports, cultural, entertainment, political, academic, religious functions and other large congregations will also continue to be banned.
The Shops depending upon their area, can have more than 5 persons at a time. They have to maintain the physical distance. The lockdown will continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till 31st July, 2020.
