RGV strategy works with adult films
Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma who was once celebrated as the genius director has lost his Midas touch long back. From the past few years, he has been churning out qualityless flicks. However, Varma is still a pro in marketing. He knows how to publicize his movies irrespective of the genre and result.
RGV is the first one to cash in digital media. He has already released two movies in his own streaming app. Both of them received negative reviews. The quality in the making of these films, content, everything has received flak. However, with both the movies, Varma has managed to receive profits.
Ram Gopal Varma has first released Climax with Mia Malkhova. On his streaming app, he fixed the rate as Rs. 100 to view the movie. He has received more than Rs. 1 Crore with the movie which is much more than what he allocated as budget. Now with his second movie, Naked, almost 40,000 users have paid for watching the movie which means he has got Rs. 80 lakhs as the ticket price is Rs. 200.
By looking at the quality in content, we can figure it out easily that Naked is wrapped in less than Rs. 5 lakh budget. With these two movies, RGV has once again announced he is master in publicizing his movies irrespective of the content.
