Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is a popular film director, producer, screenwriter, composer, singer, lyricist and actor,  who is best known for his works in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films, across multiple genres. He is regarded as one of the versatile directors of India. He has garnered 2 National Film Awards, 5 state Nandi Awards, 3 Filmfare Awards South, and three Karnataka State Film Awards. According to the latest report, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’ wife Lakshmi Kalyani passed away. She breathed her last at 09:10 PM on Saturday 28th May  at her residence in Chennai.

Lakshmi Kalyani has been suffering from several health issues for many years. The industry tracker tweeted: The Pride of Telugu cinema legendary director Rao Singeetham garu’s wife  Lakshmi Kalyani garu is no more. She was an active participant in script works of this legend. She authored a book #Srikalyaniyam in 2012 capturing many details of their family.May her soul rest in peace.!”

Singeetam Srinivasa Rao  married Lakshmi Kalyani in 1960 and she helped him with script works for his films. To show her love for the family, he  also wrote a book Sri Kalyaniyam in 2012. The last rituals  of Lakshmi Kalyani will take place today in Chennai.
