Shaaakuntalam is a mythological periodic drama that stars Dev Mohan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. In the film, Dev Mohan will be seen as King Dushyant and Samantha appears as Shakuntala. Director Gunasekhar wielded a megaphone for the movie and its shoot was completed.

The makers are gearing up to kickstart its promotions in a wide range. The latest grapevine is that the fantasy tale will be released in 3D format so that the audience can enjoy it and it can make their eyes amazeballs. 

Announcing the news to the public, the team stated, “We aim to give a bigger experience with Shaakuntalam and dip you in the world of the mythological fantasy film for which we as a team felt 3D would be a brilliant way. We would be taking some time to put forth and so, will be not able to go with the previously announced release date of the movie. We thank the world for their love and support they extend towards us. Hoping for your support in this too. We will be announcing the new release date shortly.”

Initially, the team announced that Shaakuntalam would hit the big screens on November 4th. But after deciding to release the film in 3D format, they have changed their plans regarding the film’s release. Currently, the team is making elaborate arrangements for the 3D format and when things stand in the right conditions, the release date will be announced by the makers. Ace producer Dil Raju is bankrolling this ambitious project with an immense budget.
